What's happening folks.... glad you dropped by for a visit!

GREETINGS ONE AND ALL !

It is July...almost. The weather has been hot, real hot. Hope everyone has been doing what ya need to do to stay cool.

June was good month. The band did a couple of shows as well as each member venturing off into some different musical directions. We thank the folks at Annie Moore's For always being great hosts and providing an excellent atmosphere for good food and music. We will be be there again on Friday July 16th.

But the big news is the invasion of Blue Mule into Floyd, VA this coming month. The Band comes back together and starts the month at Floyd Fandango which will be held at the Floyd Fest site on July 3 & 4th . Blue Mule plays on Saturday, doing alternating sets with Butch Robbins Imagicnation. Tom and John have been working on this side project with Butch, whose musical resume runs from Bill Monroe thru founding member of New Grass Revival. Chris Hodges joins them on drums and percussion. ( Hey Tom, why can't we have a drummer? ) The evening on the 3rd ends up with Mr. Newgrass himself Sam Bush on the main stage. Lots of good wine, beer, artists, and of course good music the whole weekend. All the action happens at mile marker 170.5 off the Blue Ridge Parkway.

On Thursday July 8th, we will be part of the Summer Music Series at Hotel Floyd
in downtown Floyd, VA. Show is 5-8 pm. Come hang out with us in Floyd, check out the shops, maybe check out a restaurant for dinner, and enjoy part or all of our show. Pretty sure there are take out places close by, maybe have dinner on the lawn ( rumor has it Pizza Inn has you covered on this one ) However you chose to enjoy the evening, it will be a good night for live outdoor music.

Then we come to the big event for us each year: Floyd Fest! It all happens July 22-25 at the mile marker 170.5 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Always a blast, always memorable, always you will hear you new favorite band, if you have never been you are long past due. Blue Mule plays on Saturday, 12 noon, in the Pink Floyd Garden Stage. How sweet it is! Our fiddling buddy Jerry Wood will be sitting in with us which will add something extremely special to our music. Floyd Fest . It is what's happening!
